About Twin Oaks

In 1955, founders of the club selected and purchased a 187-acre farm on highway M. It was an ideal site for a new club; although devoid of oak trees, the land was rich with character. In part, they selected this land because the rolling hills would lend themselves well to the future golf course and the existing farmhouse was suitable for its first clubhouse.

Twin Oaks accomplished a great deal in its first year. The club immediately broke ground on a swimming pool and began transforming the farmhouse into a clubhouse. And perhaps more importantly, the new Twin Oaks Board of Directors commissioned one of the most renowned golf architects of the time, Floyd Farley of Oklahoma City, to begin work on an 18-hole golf course. Farley laid out the entire course and supervised construction on the first nine holes.
