Mike Goodwin, shown above, won the 2010 Senior Club Championship with a victory over runner-up John Schmidt.  The match was a culmination of a series of matches played since the qualifier which was held in July.

Stag Day 6 – September 16^thFormat:  - 2 Person Best Ball – players will play the “Full Gamete” of Tees.  We        have dubbed this the “Step Tee” Format.  Sign Up begins today!! 

Grudge Cup with Hickory Hills will be September 18^th and 19^th, with the 19^th (Sunday) being the day that Twin Oaks Country Club will host.  The Block of times set aside for this event is 10:00 – 1:00.  We would encourage all Members wishing to play this day to play before the 10:00 hour as your golf game will be more enjoyable!!  Times will begin at 7:00.  There will be times available after 1:00; however play will be a bit slower. 

Last Couple Event of the Year!!! – Sunday, September 26^th, is the date and the event is a 1:30 shotgun start.  All couples are encouraged to bring guests this day, as the guest fee will be waived during this event. Entry fee to couple is $20 per couple + Cart Fees.  There will be a nice sit down dinner planned following play.  Open Play this day is scheduled for a 8:30 shotgun start.

Twin Oaks has successfully made it thru another winter. Activity at the club has already picked up, and we are looking forward to another great year.

I am very pleased to say that financially, Twin Oaks is very sound. Even after some major repairs over the last few months, we have zero debt. We are very fortunate in this respect, and credit goes to our all of our staff as well as you the members for your tremendous support of our club.

Beginning April 1st, we are offering an incentive to any member that successfully refers a new, regular, or junior member who joins Twin Oaks. The referring member will receive 2 months free dues for referring a regular member, and one month free dues for referring a junior member. The member has the choice of using the free months for themselves, or passing this along to the new member. The free dues allowed as a credit will be the sponsoring members current dues. This offer expires July 31st and is limited to 25 new members.

You will all be pleased to hear that Twin Oaks was recently rated best overall Country Club in the area by a team of independent surveyors. Results were based on several categories, but the one that stood out was “The Friendliest”. We not only have great facilities and fine dining, but as we already knew, we have great folks! Thanks again to the staff and our members. It’s an honor to be a member at Twin Oaks.

As I am sure you have noticed, new construction is happening around the golf course. Weather permitting, this should all be completed by May. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call.

Be sure and check the calendar for upcoming events: The children’s Easter party and egg hunt is always a fun time. Take the stress off of Mom and bring family and friends out for the annual Twin Oaks Easter buffet. Junior Golf, an outstanding program for our youth begins April 8th. Casino night is Friday April 16th, taxes should be behind us! New merchandise will be showing up at the Pro Shop, and golf events are appearing more often on the calendar. A Demo Day is scheduled for the 29th.

Once again, I would like to remind all of you to visit our new web site. It is full of excellent information about what has happened, is happening and is going to happen at Twin Oaks. As an example, at the home page, www.twinoakscountryclub.com, if you click on “news and updates”, you will see photos taken at the recent St. Patrick’s Day celebration. From that page, you have several choices. If you click on the “Golf/Course” category, you will see a letter from Tye describing activity happening on the course. In addition, the Pro Shop has posted past golf events with results and a calendar of upcoming golf events. If you click on the “Social Events” category, you will see a schedule of upcoming social events. This website is state of the art, and I hope you all take the time to enjoy it. You can even make Twin Oaks your “Home Page”.
